SOL is the first algorithm on Programmable Art. Enter a city and a date, past or future. SOL calculates the altitude and azimuth of the sun at sunrise for that place and day. The altitude sets the palette and light, and the azimuth sets the geometry. The same inputs always give the same painting. Generating is free, and no AI is used.
